Sudario began as a small sixteen-page risograph fanzine, created to explore new ways of looking at images from the South of Italy. It was a simple publication, assembled by hand, yet it quickly became a space for dialogue and experimentation.
As the project grew, its focus expanded. What started as a local exploration naturally evolved into a magazine dedicated to the wider Mediterranean, treating the region as a field of visual research and critical inquiry. Today Sudario brings together existing and commissioned works that examine its myths, crises, and shifting realities through a clear artistic and editorial vision.
Now structured as a broader research platform, Sudario extends across print, exhibitions, and conversations, using visual analysis as a way to investigate the Mediterranean’s evolving cultural and political conditions.
